Articulated beacons

With a submerged float of a volume of 0.8 to 10m3, GISMAN articulated beacons benefit of a swing radius close to 0. This type of equipment requests low maintenance. Each articulated beacon is subject to a specific study according to the conditions of the installation site (up to 50m depth).

  • Swing radius close to 0
  • Positioning with great accuracy
  • Low maintenance (no mooring chain)
  • Insensitive to roll (but possibility of slight tilting under the action of strong winds and currents)
  • A metal tube made of watertight sections
assembled by bolted flanges, and fixed to a
    mooring by a specific shackle
  • Sub-surface polyethylene float rotomolded and filled with PU
  • Cathodic protection against corrosion
  • 360° ladder rungs for easy access
Markup accuracy

The articulated beacon does not require any watch swing radius, allowing for very accurate marking.

Height of the beacon mark

Since it is not subject to the same stability constraints as a buoy, the focal plane of a floating beacon can be readily adjusted to meet marking requirements.

Ease and low maintenance cost

With no mooring line and offering very easy access for maintenance technicians, it requires virtually no maintenance.
