Since its founding in 1862, the French company BBT has been at the forefront of lighthouse optics, pioneering technologies that illuminate the seas. THE OCEA GROUP

Founded in 1987 in Les Sables d’Olonne, OCEA is a pioneer in aluminium shipbuilding and a leading aluminium industrial manufacturer.

Backed by strong in-house design capabilities, the company focuses on maritime territory management and Exclusive Economic Zone operations.

Specialising in the design, construction and support of aluminium vessels, OCEA has grown rapidly and now unites over 500 employees across four sites in France located along the French Atlantic Coast, one in the United Kingdom and one in the Philippines.
Each year, the company delivers 15 to 20 high-performance vessels, up to 120 m long — monohulls or catamarans — adressing the following markets :

  • Maritime Safety & Security for coast guard and law-enforcement missions
  • Maritime Transport & Mobility for tourism, territorial continuity, urban mobility, roll-on/roll-off and passenger transport
  • Maritime Territory Administration for efficient maritime territory management including oil & gas and windfarm operations support
  • Transoceanic Yachts for long-range navigation
