On July 1st, World Aids to Navigation Day (WAtoN Day) 2025 was celebrated worldwide. Organized by the International Organisation for Aids to Navigation (IALA), WAtoN Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of aids to navigation and the work carried out by its members around the world to improve and harmonize international standards for navigational efficiency and environmental protection. The Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) and Trinity House were proud to support, on behalf of the UK Department for Transport (DfT), the main international event of WAtoN Day 2025, with a three-day program of activities in London and Harwich, from June 30th to July 2nd. This program began with a reception on board of a Thames Clipper.
